Nicki Minaj Goes Ballistic on MTV Over VMA Snub
Taylor Swift is responding to Nicki Minaj’s tweet about her dissatisfaction with the 2015 MTV Video Music Award nominations – one category in particular.

“If I was a different “kind” of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well (sic)”, Nicki began her Twitter rant. Minaj was also nominated for multiple awards, including best female video and best hip-hop video for “Anaconda”, but felt slighted by her lack of a video of the year nom.
She’s right that the “Anaconda” music video was wildly popular, racking up more than 500 million views on YouTube, but as with the Oscars and other awards, VMA nominations aren’t determined by popularity.
Do you think Nicki deserved the Video of the Year nomination?
The Truffle Butter songstress took to Twitter to share her feelings, and let’s just say, MTV is going to want some Vitamin D supplements after all this shade! “Remember her doing the kick”. “Feeling Myself” initially dropped as a Tidal exclusive, which meant fewer people saw the clip (at first) than if it had hit YouTube.
While Nicki didn’t mention these “other” girls by name, the nominees for Video of the Year were Taylor Swift, Beyoncé Knowles, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar. “Did “Feeling Myself” miss the deadline?” Even MTV did a post on the choreo.
Many fans believe that when Nicki references “different” artists and “other girls” she’s implying that she’s a victim of racial discrimination. Keep reppin me, do it til the death of me.

In fact, she might have a point.
