Vevo, the multinational video hosting service, wants to attract more clients with a new pack of apps that are specially developed for Android smartphones and tvOS for Apple TV. The Android app is launching with Vevo’s new discovery feature, “New for You” which is a playlist that appears every Monday in the Spotlight feed and provides recommended videos based on an audience member’s individual taste. However, some extra features were added to the TV app. Spotlight can be auto-played and videos can be found by genre or individual artists, said PC Mag.

As Huggers explained, Vevo is set on investing in a “premium platform for music videos and related original content”, which sounds a whole lot like MTV – right before it went down the hill with reality TV programs. The Apple TV aplicaiton is avaiable available to download on the Apple TV App Store. In addition to YouTube, the company has developed apps and services for a wide range of gadgets and platforms.
The new Android app will seem familiar to anyone who has used Vevo’s iOS app since it was updated previous year, featuring the same refreshed interface. Playlists and favorites will sync seamlessly among devices. One will be able to modify the Apple TV play lists on its desktop or mobile version of an app, which is really a nice touch.
If you ask people what comes to their mind when you say Vevo, the answer will probably have something to do with the many YouTube pages of musical artists that Vevo sponsors.
