Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders Win New Hampshire Primary
Republican presidential candidate, Sen.

The real question is, how will New Hampshire influence the next two primaries in Nevada and SC?
The victor in Iowa Hillary Clinton was well-beaten in New Hampshire, but is still considered favourite for the Democratic nomination. In Republican races, Pat Buchanan squeaked by Bob Dole in 1996, and John McCain rolled over George W. Bush in 2000; among Democrats, the late Paul Tsongas beat Bill Clinton in 1992, and Hillary Clinton edged out Barack Obama in 2008.
All signs now point to a drawn-out battle in the state-by-state contests following billionaire businessman Mr Trump’s resounding victory in New Hampshire.
Sanders and Trump couldn’t be more different, yet both won, exposing a deep divide in the country. However, Tuesday’s vote did little to clarify who that candidate might be. In terms of total delegate count, Kasich trails Trump, Cruz, and Rubio, and he continues to poll in the low single digits in SC. The next step: A new radio ad starring his brother former President George W. Bush. The vast majority of that was spent by a PAC supporting Bush. “This campaign is not dead”.
Least surprising of them all, however, was the Marco Rubio campaign we’ve watched go up in flames. Rubio failed to dispatch Bush, seeing a drop in his support after a debate on Saturday in which he drew criticism for repeating rehearsed lines from his stump speech. Yet a lackluster debate performance hurt Rubio’s attempt to become the anointed “establishment” pick, and Cruz’s far right social conservativism was a poor fit for a more moderate, fiscal conservative, libertarian state.
He drew contrasts with Mr Trump as he told a crowd of 500 in Myrtle Beach that Texans and South Carolinians were more alike than not. The next test will be on February 20, when Nevada chooses who they prefer and Republicans vote in SC. At a polling station in Manchester, Joan and Roland Martineau said they voted for the two candidates they believed they could trust to shake things up. “We are going to fight for every vote in every state“, she said vowing asking her supporters to chip in with $1 contributions.
That isn’t going to be enough once the Republican field consolidates. Bernie Sanders, socialist and proud of it, has banished the inevitability of Ms. Clinton’s stroll to the White House.
Clinton had for months been the front-runner nationally.
A major problem for the Republicans is that away from the party primaries, Trump’s support is much less broad – particularly among Hispanic and black voters.
Exit polls reported among the voters who cared most about honesty and trustworthiness, five percent voted for Clinton. A record percentage of Republican voters described themselves as conservatives, while a record share of Democrats called themselves liberals, ABC noted.
