Jamie Vardy urges Leicester to remain calm ahead of Arsenal showdown

Arsenal are still in the race for the title, but Sylvinho has already said that they are not the front-runners to win the league, but believes things could still change in the coming years.

“That Leicester lead the Premier League by this margin in February is one of the biggest surprises in the European top flights in the past few years”.

Spurs have not been so high up in the table after 25 games played since 2012, when they finished fourth, and they have not won the league title since 1961.

“[Arsenal are] up there, we’re up there, City are, Tottenham, Manchester United might be 10 points adrift but the way this season’s going those 10 points can be picked up quickly”.

“We’re just enjoying it aren’t we?” “I don’t believe the bookmakers”, said the Italian, whose side visit Arsenal next weekend.

“Claudio Ranieri? Really?” tweeted former Leicester and England striker Gary Lineker before describing the July appointment as an “uninspiring choice”.

‘He is improving game by game and from last season to this one he is much better, ‘ Gilberto Silva told 888 sport. Anything less than lifting the trophy in May must be seen as a failure. “In an era when money counts for everything, I think we give hope to everybody”.

Meanwhile, this time previous year Leicester were at the bottom of the Premier League, but climbed up the table to survive relegation by six points.

Is this a bad omen as far as Arsenal fans are concerned?

Arsenal are of course above their main challengers from last term, and now sit in behind the high-flying duo of Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

In fact, the way that Leicester happily concede possession and then hit with lightning speed on the break is tailor-made to cause Arsenal problems.

The two teams are coming off impressive wins in their previous matches and both would like to further gain momentum as the current season moves forward. 1-0 wins are still victories and while it may not be a particularly attractive game of football, sometimes one goal is all it takes.

“They are actually quite well equipped to play European football because of the nature of the counter-attacking style Leicester play and the pace they play on the break, but we are probably getting ahead of ourselves here…” An entertaining share of the points could be in the cards.
