Attorney general ask to investigate Planned Parenthood

“I wouldn’t object to asking Ian, who’s our surgeon who does the cases, to use an IPAS [manual vacuum aspirator] at that gestational age in order to increase the odds that he’s going to get an intact specimen”, Gatter noted.

Biomax activities included trying to induce Planned Parenthood centers to sell fetal organs for up to $1,600, the letter said, which would likely violate laws banning commercial fetal tissue sales. These bills would greatly expand protections for unborn children from late abortions, and would curb some of the grisly practices described by the senior Planned Parenthood doctors in the two videos released so far by the CMP. Gatter is seen discussing prices she will charge for intact fetal body parts.

The TV station notes the White House has said it will not reconsider federal funding for Planned Parenthood in the wake of the allegations.

The governor, speaking to residents in the conservative early-voting state of South Carolina, stressed that he defunded Planned Parenthood for six straight budgets. A group trying to expose Planned Parenthood’s practices releases a new hidden camera video of a high level official appearing to negotiate prices.

Gatter says in the video, “We’re not in it for the money”, while also discussing whether a payment of $100 per specimen would be adequate.

Selling body parts from aborted fetuses is illegal, and the appearance of this tape has some conservatives on Capitol Hill calling for an investigation.

Republican state lawmakers are renewing their calls for a state investigation of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin after the release of a second video showing a national Planned Parenthood official negotiating the donation of human fetal tissue.

Gatter, who also presides over Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Medical Directors’ Council, said the money is “not the important thing”.

He said the activist mainly responsible for the video, David Daleiden, created a fake company called Biomax Procurement Services for “a campaign of corporate espionage”.

(Dr. Mary Gatter/Planned Parenthood) “Well, why don’t you start by telling me what you’re used to paying…” “There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood“.

The president of Planned Parenthood of Arizona has said such procedures do not occur in Arizona. One of the issues he cited in switching parties, though, was a rift with the GOP over a Republican push to criminalize embryonic stem cell research. Planned Parenthood filed a complaint detailing the Center for Medical Progress’ “deplorable and possibly unlawful actions” in a letter to Congress Monday.
