But retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson gamely stayed on despite finishing at the bottom of the table while Florida Senator Marco Rubio the new establishment favourite prepared for his second act after the exit of his tormentor Christie. It came too late for Christie. “It is just going to take a little longer, but we are going to get there”.
Then he turned philosophical. Sharpton has not endorsed either candidate, nor has the Congressional Black Caucus PAC – but both could give one candidate a valuable nod before voters go back to the polls.
Christie’s supporters were deflated upon seeing the early results.
When former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright says that “there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other”, I call foul. But I woke up this morning ready to keep fighting for the issues you and I believe in.
To Jeannie Teller of Bedford, the Trump and Democratic Sen. But strong distrust of party “establishments” unites adherents of both parties. Not everybody maybe, but my early reports are people who sat around and said ‘You know, I like Kasich, he’s smart, he’s experienced, he’d be a great president, but he’s at 1% in the polls.
Rubio supporters at his primary night party at the Radisson in Manchester were resolute, however.
“He doesn’t come from a part of the country where African-American politics are a daily part of political life”, she said. The simple fact is that we now live in a country where a woman as accomplished as Hillary Clinton can’t get away with claiming she deserves a job just because she’s a woman.
Rubio, 44, attracted a number of younger voters in his primary push. Organizers said it would not be involved in the Democratic primaries and would be focused on November’s election and beyond. “I was excited to vote today”.
Many working-class white voters feel embittered toward the whole political establishment. Having said that, I don’t think there’s a clear front-runner on the Democratic side. “I think his family values will influence his decisions as President”. Most people see her as a very controversial and compromised person who has been in the news for almost 30 years.
