Donald Trump has reached a settlement with Univision, which he sued a year ago for $500 million for dumping his Miss Universe pageant.

He filed the lawsuit against Univision in June 2015, when Univision it would not air the July 12 pageant because of what it called insulting remarks about Mexican immigrants made by Trump when he announced he was running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. Gutierrez was incorrectly named the victor before Wurtzbach was given the Miss Universe crown.

The terms of the agreement are confidential, according to a Univision spokeswoman.

The New York developer then fired back with a $500 million lawsuit claiming the Spanish-language broadcaster unjustly broke a contract.

Trump said that he had known Univision’s president and CEO, Randy Falco, for two decades and “I’m glad we are able to put these differences behind us”.

News of the settlement included brief statements from Trump and Univision CEO Randy Falco.

The network dropped the pageant past year after Mr. Trump began his presidential bid with a broadside against illegal immigration and a criticism of Mexico for sending rapists and other bad elements to the U.S. “The widespread outrage elicited by Trump’s offensive comments was especially acute for Univision’s sponsors and predominantly Hispanic viewers, who made clear that they would not patronize a business connected with Trump”. Trump had already stepped down from the show to run for president.
