Philadelphia police will not decide Thursday whether to issue a warrant for Bills running back LeSean McCoy’s arrest, according to an ESPN report, for his role in an alleged Sunday assault against off-duty police officers.

Furthermore, Brace explained how awkward it was seeing ESPN reporting that McCoy is expected to be arrested on the TV behind McCoy himself!

McCoy is one of four suspects under investigation for the incident, and investigators have recommended he be charged with aggravated assault, reports WPVI Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police have acknowledged that McCoy was present at the bar that night, but have not specified if he played a role in the incident. District Attorney’s office wanted to be a thorough process before determining possible charges. Some members of the group allegedly assaulted three off-duty officers – including a sergeant – in a dispute over a bottle of champagne, according to police reports.

Officer Roland Butler was treated at a hospital for a laceration to his right eye, broken nose, broken ribs and sprained thumb.

Some believe McCoy actually says, “I will make a statement later” around the :22 mark instead of, “I made a mistake”. As John Gonzalez of CSN Philly notes, McCoy originally tabbed high-profile Philly defense attorney Jack McMahon to defend him, but the Bills back has reportedly changed his mind and gone with Larry Krasner. It has yet to be determined how involved McCoy was in the fight, and it’s hard to tell based on the video footage obtained by TMZ Tuesday. A second officer received eight stitches over his left eye and had a possible skull fracture. McCoy is heard responding to a question about what happened at the club.
