Chasing over nine per over, Karachi Kings lost three wickets in the final two overs of the powerplay and found themselves in trouble at 33 for three. Sammy bowled full and wide first ball, and Ravi Bopara, who had nearly single-handedly brought Karachi back into the game, whacked a six over the cover-point boundary. Bopara’s innings was studded with five fours and four sixes. Their openers Muhammad Hafeez and Tamim Iqbal looked in great form as they had 93 runs opening partnership off just 63 balls. That left Mohammad Amir, the new man in, with the unenviable task of hitting four off the last ball. Peshawar Zalmi scored 182-4 in allotted 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. After a huge discussion between Sammy and his captain Shahid Afridi, Sammy ran in to bowl the final ball from around the wicket.
