Cam Newton was happy to be labelled a sore loser after the Carolina Panthers went down 24-10 to the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl 50.

“We knew when we drafted him back in 2011 with the second pick, and I still say it, there’s not many guys-I haven’t seen a more talented guy, physically than Von”, Broncos general manager John Elway said Tuesday.
“I’ve got no more tears to cry”, he said.
“I have seen so much about it. I have seen so much blown out of proportion. If you want me to be that type”.
“I think he’s matured”, Elway said about Miller. As he was speaking, teammates stood around him, shouting “we love Cam”.
Understandably, Newton was angry and emotional after such a devastating defeat and didn’t really want answer questions from the media. “I think they’ll be a great team this new season”, Tammie Lankford said. “And I am my own person, and I take pride in that”. Instead, the Panthers lost and Newton offered a weak explanation one day later, saying his leg could’ve been contorted. “I want players who hate to lose”.
In a league that embraces a quarterback like Johnny Manziel, who had to go to alcohol rehab this off-season and is now under fire for an alleged incident, they’ve crucified a guy that hands out footballs to children after touchdowns.
“I’m human. I’ve never once said that I’m ideal”.
Sure, he probably could have handled it better. Then you have the contest of who can win with grace and lose with dignity. “You show me a good loser and I’m going to show you a loser”, added Newton. People knew we were going to win, but they didn’t know how fast we would win.
As we know, that doesn’t always happen and there are ways to deal with a loss without pouting. He was upset. Newton and the Panthers had gotten into the biggest game in American sports, and they came up short.
Each replay is more damning than the last. “He told us a lot of things”. I say that with so much emphasis.

What is your message to fans? He has a bar, he has games, we play poker and just hang out. “Because yours or anyone else’s expectations will never exceed mine”.
