But their wondering was only brief, because this is Apple, whose ethos is centred around maintaining tight control of the entire ecosystem surrounding its products – including repairs. Parts that can impact Touch ID include the screen, flex cable, and Home button.
While the company defends this as a security measure, many users have encountered the issue months after they had their devices repaired by third parties. There is no warning! The latest speculation is a ceramic design likely to be used for the back cover of the phone, just like the OnePlus X. However, one thing for sure the iPhone 7 will have more to offer than what you enjoyed in the iPhone 6s. These devices are getting increasingly outdated over time, and Apple users are notoriously loyal to their favorite brand.
So why hasn’t Apple ever mentioned of this?
Those sensors have been cryptographically secured by Apple during the original process of manufacture and can not be reset by third-party repairers. Also of note: Apple’s newest iPhone will bring a next-generation A10 processors produced by TSMC, according to MacRumors.
Emerging markets are going through significant economic turmoil lately, yet Apple announced a 18% increase in iPhone unit sales in China last quarter.
While Apple has yet to officially respond to the lawsuit, MacRumors claims that some Apple retail stores have been given the greenlight by Apple to replace components within the phone to resolve the issue.
Update: we’re getting some reports from our readers that letting the battery drain could make the iPhone work once again after changing the date and getting stuck with the Apple logo.
Shaun Moffatt, the owner of the Sydney mobile phone repairer Fone Fix, is anxious that the adverse publicity around Error 53 might scare customers away.
In other Apple news, Director Arthur D. Levinson sold 2,008 shares of Apple stock in a transaction that occurred on Tuesday, February 2nd.
Critics of Apple say that the move is more about increasing revenue.
Any iOS devices with a Touch ID sensor can be affected. You’ll have to pay a fee though, an expensive fee.
Apple encourages those who have undergone error 53 to reach Apple support. Let’s hope they have a good solution to this, that doesn’t involve purchasing a new iPhone.
