Newton talks about being a ‘sore loser’

I have some friends that like to go hunting in MS in January and they invite you and I always say, ‘I hope I’m not available to go hunting in January, I want to be playing in January.’ So, when you do play into February it makes for a long season.

Cam Newton isn’t apologizing for acting like a “sore loser” after the Super Bowl. But as Newton has made clear since he reported to training camp this summer, he’s not going to be who we expect. This league is a great league with or without me. I am my own person. Instead, the Panthers lost and Newton offered a weak explanation one day later, saying his leg could’ve been contorted. “I’ve seen numerous quarterbacks throw interceptions and the effort afterwards they don’t go”.

According to Joe Person of the Observer, Newton added he won’t conform to what anyone wants to see from him. “I’ve spent a lot of time with those guys, and I would like to finish my career out with those guys”. OK, you say my effort: I didn’t dive down. People knew we were going to win, but they didn’t know how fast we would win.

“We didn’t lose that game because of that fumble”.

Rivera also said he’s excited about the future of the Panthers and hopes the team can learn from the Broncos. Newton’s conduct attracted plenty of ire – as well as support – and on Tuesday he refused to apologize. We don’t play this game for a participation trophy.

Immediately following C.J. Anderson’s game-sealing touchdown for the Broncos late in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 50, CBS’s production team cut to a shot of the Manning family’s luxury box.

Cam Newton seemed like a different man Tuesday at Bank of America Stadium. Newton hasn’t spoken to the media in his previous four seasons on the day players clean out their lockers, but he felt compelled to talk on Tuesday amid criticism of him. “I think he still has a little bit left in him”. “That’s why I’m happy for Von”. “I want players who hate to lose”.
