Sixth Democratic Debate: Bernie Sanders Attacks Hillary Clinton’s Relationship With Henry Kissinger

Clinton, well aware of Obama’s continued popularity in SC among Democrats, aligned herself with the president Thursday, saying he fails to get the credit he deserves for salvaging the United States economy after the financial crisis. Sanders responded by calling Clinton’s attacks a low blow. Bernie Sanders for criticizing the President.

“I have said many times I am not asking people to support me because I’m a woman”, she said on the debate stage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Even so, the restrained exchange on Thursday was unlikely to change the trajectory of a race that has intensified dramatically over two weeks.

By the time of the debate in Flint, Michigan, Clinton and Sanders will know much more about how the race is developing. “That’s a promise that can not be kept”.

When asked if Obama had closed that gap, Sanders replied.

“We’ve got to go forward together”. The theory is that once more diverse states begin to cast their ballots, Clinton’s campaign will further the distance between her and Sanders.

Sanders bristled: “I’ve fought my entire life to make sure health care is a right for all people.”.

“Let’s not in any way imply here that President Obama or myself would not take on any vested interest…to stand up to do what’s best for the American people”, she said. Clinton hit all her main talking points, but she didn’t change the equation with progressive voters.

Right out of the gate, Sanders and Clinton both attempted to carve out a niche for themselves to show that they are the most qualified to become the nominee. “When we talk about criminal justice reform we also have to talk about jobs, education, housing and other ways of helping communities of colour”, she said. Hardworking immigrant families living in fear who should be brought out of the shadows so they and their children can have a better future.

“The kind of criticism we’ve heard from Sen”. Both states have almost all-white populations.

For his part, Senator Sanders, an independent from Vermont who calls himself a democratic socialist, hoped to harness the momentum and enthusiasm he gained from the first two contests and prove he can be a viable contender to lead the Democratic Party to victory in the November 8 presidential election.

Sanders said the current campaign finance system is corrupt and undermines American democracy. “They want a political revolution”.

She also cited her experience as secretary of state, implying that she had a broader array of expertise than Sanders, who focuses largely on economic inequality.

“Look, I think that she’s been saying that for as long as I’ve known her, which is about 25 years”.

“Hillary always makes something good happen”, Bill Clinton said.

Hillary Clinton has one goal in Thursday’s Democratic presidential debate: Stop Bernie Sanders.

Hamilton’s death came just days before Wisconsin enacted reform, underscoring its necessity and making Wisconsin one of the first states in the country to mandate that all police-involved shootings be investigated independently by the state Department of Justice. “So count me in as someone who will not be listening to Henry Kissinger”.
