Colorado Rockies face off against the Texas Rangers in Colorado

Choo’s leadoff triple in the ninth inning completed the cycle, and Matt Harrison earned his first win in 14 months as the Rangers routed the Colorado Rockies 9-0 Tuesday night. Arenado would then come around to score during the next at-bat when Ben Paulsen singled to center.

Colorado Rockies catcher Nick Hundley, front, turns to make the tag but is unable to get Texas Rangers’ Rougned Odor out as he slides safely across home plate to score on an infield out by Prince Fielder in the fifth inning of a baseball game Monday, July 20, 2015, in Denver. The result was six hits, six runs, one strikeout and three walks in four innings of work in a 7-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fielder hits a grounder towards Paulsen who casually strolls over to the bag for the out.

The Rockies will send out a fairly typical lineup, with Troy Tulowitzki hitting third and Carlos Gonzalez hitting fourth.

With a 3-0 lead heading into the second the Rockies would add to that on a Blackmon single which scored Brandon Barnes who reached on a single and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by the pitcher Rusin. Problem was Paulsen thought there were two outs. “I was holding up “two” and that was my whole mindset”.

Fielder was awarded two RBIs on the play and he now has 57 on the season. Fielder scored all the way from first, one of the game’s defining moments.

The Rangers built a comfortable lead against struggling Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick (3-11). Bettis was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday with right elbow inflammation but it seems to have improved. “It’s always concerning when there’s elbow inflammation with a pitcher”. But since the beginning of 2013, Harrison has undergone four surgeries, three on his back. Texas is 2-10 in their last 12 games, 1-6 against the NL West, and 0-7 in Harrison’s last seven road starts. Martinez is 5-5 with a 3.43 ERA in 16 starts in 2015. He has not recorded a win since beating Arizona on June 23, which is his only victory at Coors Field this season.
