Some of the popular storylines from the first half of the season include the incredible start for by Golden State Warriors, as well as the success of New York Knicks rookie sensation and big man Kristaps Porzingis, Kobe Bryant’s retirement tour, and the recent firing of New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher.

“I’m really proud of him”, Warriors center Andrew Bogut said of Barnes, who had two points on 1-for-4 shooting through three quarters.

That’s a mere drop in the bucket compared to the Pacific Ocean-sized gap (in time and obviously talent) they appear to be from the league’s elite teams, like Golden State.

Warriors: Curry sank a 3-pointer for the 123rd consecutive game, four shy of Kyle Korver’s National Basketball Association record….

Case in point, Andre Iguodala who had six assists, six rebounds and 12 points.

Curry had nine assists and nine rebounds, finishing just short of his third triple-double of the season despite not playing in the fourth quarter.

Curry has been hot for the Warriors, averaging 34.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.6 steals, and 6.2 three-pointers over the past five games.

In Miami, LaMarcus Aldridge scored 28 points, Kawhi Leonard added 23 and San Antonio got seven points on one possession in the fourth quarter to help beat Miami. With an 11-point deficit, Curry scored 30 of his 40 points in the second half and took his team onto an 82-76 victory.

The highlight of Curry’s latest masterclass was his role in a remarkable passage of play in the third quarter, when he stripped the ball inside the Warriors paint and then darted forward to launch an attack.

Kerr will travel to his home in San Diego for the All-Star break after having won all nine of his games on the bench this season.

I’m saying this team is so good that it can handle all of that, maybe lose a game here or there when a star or two is resting, and still get to 72 victories.

Dominican forward Trevor Ariza added 19 points, while center Dwight Howard had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds for Houston, which is now in eighth place in the West, or barely on pace to make the playoffs.

Ranked 19th, Phoenix scores 100.5 points per game.

That was part of a seven-point trip for the Spurs, who pushed an 87-80 lead to 94-80 in 16 seconds and weren’t threatened again. He missed all seven of his 3-point attempts.

Rockets: Golden State’s 42 first-quarter points were the most allowed by Houston in any period this season….

The Rockets are coming into this contest fresh off a loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Moe Harkless notched season highs in points (19) and rebounds (13) for the Trail Blazers, who moved past the Rockets in the Western Conference standings.

Rodney Hood had a tying three-pointer with 1.5 seconds left in regulation as the Jazz ended a 10-game losing streak in Dallas.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 35 points and 11 rebounds, and Minnesota came back from 18 points down to stun Toronto. The extended comeback was a reminder of everything the Rockets did well last season under Kevin McHale – running the offense through James Harden to great success, getting useful contributions from role players, and feeding off the defensive energy of Patrick Beverley to test the limits of the league’s elite.
