There’s still a long way to go until a potential Mayweather-Khan fight, but if Mayweather wants one last monster payday and is tempted by the opportunity to have a professional record of 50-0 (assuming he gets by Berto), it’s not at all mad to think that it could someday happen.

Berto (33-3) may be delighted with the decision, but on the back of what was billed as the “Fight of the Century”, this is an underwhelming card, especially given it’s likely to be Mayweather’s last ever fight.

Mayweather is regarded as the world’s highest-paid athlete, cumulatively earning $420 million in his boxing career. “Not 154 pounds, come down to 147 pounds just like what Floyd actually fights at”, Jeff, Mayweather’s uncle, said in an interview with Jenna J on On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
According to his private chef, Mayweather is taking a more laissez-faire approach to his food consumption for the bout with Berto, eating pretty much anything he pleases.
Though the September 12 fight hasn’t been confirmed by Mayweather’s camp or a network – CBS is believed to air the fight – Mayweather has mentioned Berto’s name in the past, and Berto tweeted that he’s excited to “be in the running” to fight Mayweather.
Even though Mayweather himself raised the possibility that he might fight Berto on September 12, the suggestion was not widely taken seriously in June.
