American Idol Season 15 Episode 11
Her performance of “My Church” may just change that.

The first four predictions were pretty easy for me to decide, but I held off on this final one because there are a handful of singers I’m not choosing who very well could be leaving. Harry thinks Gianna has a mysterious quality – he knows she’s a goofy 15-year-old, but she has a superb gift that he can’t ignore.
Alaina took the stage again for a duet with Mackenzie Bourg.
During the duets round, Isabella performed with Nick Fradiani the Season 14 winner’s coronation song “Beautiful Life”.
The other half of the remaining “Idol” field will go through the same schedule next week – two nights of singing, five of 12 will be cut. Luckily, the solo was likely enough to keep him in the competition, because the judges see a lot of potential in him based on that performance.
Emily Brooke belted out Cassadee Pope’s “I Am Invincible” – a poor choice in the judges’ opinions. Her uber-exuberance, while sweet, comes off a little unprofessional, though. She struggled a bit with her pitch, and the song was a little low for her, as Lopez pointed out.
A makeup-less, dressed-down Avalon Young performed “Love Yourself”, by Justin Bieber. Normally, Emily is good for a reliable vocal and an engaging performance, but her performance of Cassadee Pope’s “I Am Invincible” was one of the most tone deaf things of the evening.
“You’re either gonna make other competitors get better, or you’re gonna make them want to quit”, Connick Jr. bluntly offered. “You know, it’s been such a blessing to have such great partners as Fox throughout all of these years”, Seacrest says. Then he sang the Eric-Carmen-by-way-of-Celine-Dion ballad “All By Myself”, with his wife and infant daughter leading the crowd’s applause. The energy really built, but Urban and Lopez thought it was too theatrical. I’ve never been a fan of Thomas and would get rid of him right away if I could. Was just singing in front of the mirror.

Thomas Stringfellow sang “Creep” by Radiohead and played guitar for his performance. It sounded technically good and showed impressive range and control, but fancy voices, but without a sense of loneliness or loss, this performance fell flat. White suspenders and insane poufed-up hair on a string bean must be more manipulative than I thought. It was Stringfellow’s strongest performance so far in the competition. They sounded great together, and overall, Brooke had a better performance than her solo showcase last night. Gianna has a good voice and there are moments during her rendition of “I Put a Spell on You” when the power in her voice lets loose in a good way. The rest of the top 14 will be revealed next week.
