Burger King started hotdog pilot programs in five markets during 2015, discovering there was a real appetite for high quality hotdogs at a reasonable price, explained Burger King North America President Alex Macedo.
More than 7,000 US locations will sell the new grilled dogs February 23 but this PR coup that was “leaked” shows Snoop bragging about the “hot dogs grilled to perfection” that are “so fresh and so clean, so fresh and so green”.
Burger King recently announced they will begin selling grilled hot dogs, and who better to be the brand ambassador than the king of dogs.
It will offer the “classic” hot dog for $1.99 and a chili-cheese version for $2.29. “We’re applying over 60 years of flame-grilling expertise with the Whopper sandwich to make Grilled Dogs the next great American icon”. He also reminds viewers you can top them with ketchup, mustard or relish, which is really just “chopped up pickles”.
The meat company, formerly a part of Kraft Foods, joined the broader 3G family previous year, when Kraft and Heinz merged in a deal backed by Warren Buffett. Oscar Mayer developed the hot dogs specifically for Burger King, Macedo said.

Taking centre stage in an internal employee video Snoop made his way into the kitchen to talk about the menu’s latest addition before introducing himself as “Snoop D-O-double g”. “It tastes like a backyard barbecue”.
