Pats’ owner Robert Kraft slights Manning clan

Not only were they forced to consider how it could have been them hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, given their close loss to the eventual champion Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game, but they had to watch Peyton Manning, Tom Brady’s arch-rival, hoist the hardware as confetti rained down. Before their monstrous defense supplied the Kryptonite to Cam Newton’s Superman routine, they first had to take the Patriots’ proud-but-battered offense behind the woodshed. But Patriots owner Robert Kraft wants to make sure everyone knows his quarterback – Tom Brady – has won more Super Bowls than the reigning Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Peyton Manning, and his kid brother, Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

“I happened to see Archie there [at the Super Bowl]”.

Kraft had just returned from the Super Bowl, where he saw commissioner Roger Goodell. “But with all due respect, we have one son who’s won four”.

This is the very essence of the Patriot Way, which is to say it can’t stand anyone but the Patriots getting glory for more than five seconds. Did the Krafts adopt Tom Brady without telling anyone?

The Broncos’ Peyton Manning walks onto the field after the team won Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers. This is another reason why few teams in professional sports are as hated as the New England Patriots.

But if the question was who would you rather have in a matchup of Brady versus Manning, Eli or Peyton, you’d have to go with the Manning, right?

Another interesting point from the interview was his sorrow in regard to the Patriots having to play the AFC championship game on the road. New England sputtered down the stretch, losing its final two games of the regular season.
