Republicans Christie, Fiorina to quit White House bids
Former HP executive Carly Fiorina ended her bid Wednesday for the Republican nomination for president. While New Hampshire makes it easy for independents to vote in party primaries, other states allow only party members to participate.

Trump’s remaining opponents, majority mainstream Republicans, will likely benefit from their departures, which leave seven Republicans from a field that once had 17 candidates.
Trump won the New Hampshire primary, the first in the nation, on Tuesday. After a third-place finish in the February 1 Iowa caucuses, with a higher percentage of the vote than anyone predicted, Rubio was riding a wave of what supporters called “Marco-mentum”. Bernie Sanders (I) and businessman Donald Trump, have a mixed record of picking the eventual presidential nominees.
The results testified to the sizable share of American voters upset over the slow economic recovery, immigration and America’s place in the world and who are willing to shake up Washington.
The “conservative” framing is another example of how Trump foes, with a sigh of relief, are messaging now that the race has moved on from a state where independents can easily vote in the Republican primary.
Christie had poured much of his campaign’s resources into New Hampshire and had considered a good showing there critical.
“My kids were wat ching me last night”, Rubio said of his nationally televised admission that a poor debate performance pushed voters away. He actually attacked Jeb, declaring that the former GOP frontrunner “desperately needed mommy to help him”, and also said, “mom can’t help you with ISIS, the Chinese or with Putin”.
“President Bush has been incredibly supportive of his brother’s campaign and Governor Bush is excited to have him out on the trail”, said Kristy Campbell, a spokeswoman with the Jeb Bush campaign, via email. Ted Cruz, who each came to the state with a burst of momentum after the first two nomination contests.
Ohio’s Republican governor John Kasich finished second in New Hampshire, followed by Cruz, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and US Senator Marco Rubio from Florida. He said he was leaving New Hampshire “without an ounce of regret”.
Trump is now at 9/2, compared with 7/1 last week, meaning his chances of victory in November are now 18 percent. Civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton met Sanders for breakfast at a restaurant in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood.
Expect to see more debates over who can claim the mantle as a true progressive or conservative. Current and former members of the state’s Legislative Black Caucus have lined up to endorse her. The mothers of two black men killed by white police officers in separate incidents, Eric Garner and Dontre Hamilton, plan to campaign for her in the Palmetto State. We must be front and centre and not marginalised. Then, when Christie pressed him, Rubio went back to those same memorized lines again and again.
Sharpton discussed a spate of police shootings of black males and other issues with the senator.
Palatucci added: “No candidate worked harder than Chris Christie over the past of seven or eight months”.
Clinton has a long history of support for civil rights.

“That communicates to voters”, Rath said.
