To have milk for her tea, prosecutors said, she was forced to “strain the milk out of the children’s bowls of cereal”. She was made to clean, cook, and care for the children.

The complaint also alleges that Sandra Nsobundu would physically abuse the victim, who had a “deformed” left arm that didn’t heal right after a motorcycle accident in Nigeria, if she did not perform her duties to the Nsobundus’ expectations. The complaint said Sandra Nsobundu is accused of once striking the nanny across the face with a slipper and threatening to “shoot her and kill her” after not liking the socks the woman had put on one of the younger children.
A Katy couple held a Nigerian woman hostage at their home at 6415 Arroyo Hill Ct., forcing her to perform unpaid work as a nanny and subjecting her to freaky abuses.
The Nsobundu couple are charged with forced labor, harboring an illegal alien, and withholding documents.
The nanny would work every day from 5:30 a.m.to 1 a.m. without breaks and had to eat leftovers, according to the complaint.
Nsobundu’s husband, Chudy, will make an appearance later this afternoon.
Neighbors told Click 2 Houston that they were surprised by the allegations but said that while the children played with other children, the parents were private. U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Johnson granted Sandra Nsobundu, 50, an unsecured bond and Chudy Nsobundu, 56, a $5,000 bond.
If convicted the couple faces 60 years in prison and $1 million in fines, according to the Press.
Chudy Nsobundu was asked by the judge to hire an attorney after he didn’t qualify for a court-appointed lawyer.
“We know they are out there”.
The nanny started living with the Nsobundus in September of 2013, according to the complaint. She was also denied hot showers, the complaint said.
