Trump, Sanders enjoy momentum after N.H. victories
Rubio’s poor performance has created a potential opening for Jeb Bush, who has declared that SC is where it all begins for him. The South Carolina campaign will take place in a state where political insurgencies of the sort represented by Trump and Cruz have often withered.

It was the second disappointing finish in a row for Christie. Bush is continuing to stress is executive experience credentials during this week’s campaign swing ahead of South Carolina’s February 20 GOP primary.
Meanwhile, at Thursday’s Democratic debate in Milwaukee, Hillary Clinton, who has cast herself as the rightful heir to President Barack Obama’s legacy, accused rival Bernie Sanders of diminishing the president’s record and short-changing his leadership.
Bruce Ashford, provost and professor of theology and culture at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, said, “Even a few months ago, it would have surprised most Americans to be told that New Hampshire voters would nominate a socialist and a nationalist for the nation’s highest office”. SC does not register voters by political party, so any voter can cast a ballot in either the Democratic or the Republican primary, though not in both. When asked in the debate, Rubio joined Christie and Bush in supporting women registering with the Selective Service System.
In the delegate count for New Hampshire, Trump won 10 delegates, Kasich four, and Cruz, Bush and Rubio three apiece, The Times reported. And the former Florida governor has a wild card in his brother, former President George W. Bush, who won a hotly contested 2000 primary in the state and “cuts a wide swath” across the party, Bush aide Brett Doster said. Rubio accused Cruz, another first-term senator, of hurting US military might with his budget stances. That’s still just shy of her rival Bernie Sanders, whose $28.4 million ad buy is concentrated in six states beyond Nevada and SC.
Trump was the only Republican to bypass SC on Friday, redirecting his typically unconventional campaign to Florida, where he planned to hold a rally in Tampa. “At this point, the closest contender [to Trump] is Ted Cruz, followed perhaps by Marco Rubio, who, despite his lackluster showing, probably stands the best chance of winning the general election”.
FIX: There’s a lot of talk coming from Jeb Bush’s campaign that SC is “Bush country”.
It will be the most public role George W. Bush has taken to date in his brother’s campaign.
Hull says he’s pro-business, but not exactly pro-Trump.
The Ohio governor said he plans to stick to the positive campaign message that has carried him for eight months.
“Over time, I sure do. Either it will work or it won’t”.
He is counting on attracting independents who can vote in the Republican primary. This is bad news for a candidate who remains unpopular among many Republicans and appeared vulnerable to negative ads in Iowa. The total will include sizable groups of all GOP factions: religious and social conservatives, business and fiscal conservatives, and national security hawks.
Trump has hit all the pressure points among the working class in the state. He drew contrasts with Trump as he told a crowd of 500 in Myrtle Beach that Texans and South Carolinians are more alike than not.
“We very easily could be looking at May – or the convention”, Sullivan said aboard Rubio’s charter jet from New Hampshire to SC on Wednesday.
Clinton’s campaign argues she will perform better as the race heads to more racially diverse states, including Nevada and SC.
Donald Trump got about 35 percent of the vote in New Hampshire, compared to John Kasich’s 16.
The Texas senator’s schedule through the weekend targets evangelicals.
“I don’t want immigration reform to fail”, Cruz reportedly said during a May 2013 Judiciary Commitee hearing.
“We raised more money after this debate than any debate we’ve ever had and we’re excited about it”, Rubio said.

Impressively, Cruz came in third in New Hampshire, only spending approximately $18.00 per vote in advertisements while Jeb Bush came in fourth, spending approximately $1200.00 per vote garnered in advertisement.
