The White House lowered its flag later in the day. You can not divide Americans. “Out of respect for their courageous service and sacrifice to our nation, flags at the U.S. Capitol are being lowered to half-staff”.
“Last week, five fearless service members were murdered in a terror attack in Chattanooga, Tennessee”, he said in a released statement.
The governor, who finished a multi-city tour through South Carolina Tuesday as he campaigns for president, signed an executive order requiring all state buildings to fly flags at half-staff on Wednesday, the governor’s office announced. Earnest had almost the same response for reporters Tuesday. “Capitol’s flag at half-staff today to honor the servicemen killed by a terrorist in Chattanooga”.
Beginning with Tennessee on Friday, governors in some states issued orders to lower flags. This is a small way Mississippi can honor those who died.
Obama directed that the flags be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday. “This is a part of we as a nation grieving that members of our military were shot in the line of duty”, the Republican said in an interview.
