Christie channels Clinton (Bill) on eve of NH primary

Second-place Marco Rubio has triple the support.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a native son of Pittsburgh, poured all of his resources into New Hampshire and emerged with a life-sustaining second place.

But Bush pressed his none-too-subtle criticism that Rubio, who is 44 and a one-term senator, is too green for the White House.

“When a person is borrowed from the Trump organization to go work on the [presidential] campaign, the campaign pays the Trump organization for that person’s time”, Confessore said. “I would be surprised if it’s not May or the convention”. He certainly did markedly better among the 15 percent of Republicans who picked it as their top issue.

A day before voters go to the polls in the first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire, Chris Christie said he believes “the race is now wide open” and pointed to Bill Clinton as evidence. Rival campaigns conceded privately in the days leading up to the debate he was pulling away from the governors.

In remarks that were at times personal and others defiant, he also may have simply needed to talk it out to help process his predicament. But he also won among those who say their family’s financial condition is improving.

Rubio, who was roundly mocked for reciting rote talking points over and over in Saturday’s debate, was working to flip the script, arguing that if he sounded repetitive, it was only because he was consistent. “He’s going nowhere. And the only thing he does is attack me”.

“I taught them more last night from that experience, I feel, than any words I’ll share. They are hungry for solutions”, she said, adding that she wanted to rein in Wall Street.

Nearly all the Republicans have spent months building complex campaigns and blanketing airwaves in SC, which heralds the start of the Republican campaign’s foray into the South. After that primary on February 20, seven Southern states including Georgia and Virginia will anchor the Super Tuesday primaries on March 1, with a large number of delegates at stake. Having courted social conservatives in Iowa and moderates in New Hampshire, the candidates face an electorate infused with evangelical, pro-business and military-minded flavors. Ted Cruz (11.7%), former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (11.0%), Florida Sen.

“When the lights get that bright, you either shine or you melt, and we can’t afford to have a president who melts”, he said at a campaign event in Hudson, New Hampshire. Had Rubio received scrutiny earlier, voters might have been able to find a candidate who didn’t wilt in the spotlight. “We’ve got some people that haven’t campaigned anywhere else but here, their whole campaign is built here. But, you’re running to be the leader of the free world — it’s supposed to be a challenge”.

The first southern state to vote in the primaries is a rough-and-tumble political swamp. He leads Texas Sen.

Rubio’s campaign has looked forward to the state. Typically, Iowa and New Hampshire serve as proving grounds for the candidates.

Sensing Rubio’s vulnerability, almost everyone seemed to be on the attack.
