Arsene Wenger asks fans not to protest during Leicester game

Francis Coquelin is pushing for a recall, while Danny Welbeck could be included for the first time this season following a long-term knee injury.

Melchiot: “Yes I am and I’m sure a lot of people are because last season Leicester just survived relegation”.

The turnaround in fortunes is such that I heard a well-known football pundit suggest this week that if Leicester manage to win their match away to Arsenal this weekend, they could have the title wrapped up in time, before they face “difficult games” away to Manchester United and Chelsea in two of their three final games.

In one of the most highly-anticipated matchups this season, German defender Robert Huth netted a double for Claudio Ranieri’s squad at the 3rd and 60th minutes to seal the win for City.

“For me, the game is a joy and everyone has to be part of it. You can protest before and after, but during the game you want everyone to be there”.

After Manchester City’s failure, this weekend it is Arsenal’s turn to try to stop the Leicester City juggernaut from running away with things at the top of the Premier League. “And that’s where the nerves come in a little bit”.

Chelsea fan Jordan, 23, from Stanford-le-Hope, said: “I’d never been into betting in my life, but I thought 2,000/1 for them to beat Sunderland must’ve been a mistake”. It was very important for us to win on Sunday and I think we are back to our normal level. He’s under mountains of pressure to deliver the league title, with the state the other teams are in, and he’s not doing a very good job of that.

“I don’t deny pressure”. We just continue to dream with our fans.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will look to rebound when they host Tottenham, a side who sit second, one point ahead of themselves.

“We have to nullify their pace and attacking potential – we want to dominate the game, have the ball and be risky”. “It is true that sometimes the less time you have to wait for the next game, the better it is”.

The trip to Villa Park is one of the many crucial Premier League clashes of the weekend, with a couple of potentially pivotal games standing out.

And while Arsenal won convincingly at the King Power stadium, Wenger said Leicester are a better team five months later.

A problem for Spurs could be fixture congestion, with the team set to resume its Europa League campaign next week – over two legs against Fiorentina in the last 32 – and was still in the FA Cup.

Leicester are winless in their last 18 league matches against the Gunners (D6, L12).

Sanchez helped Arsenal return to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Bournemouth last weekend to leave them third in the table and five points behind the high-flying Foxes heading into Sunday’s showdown.
