GOP Debate to be held in Greenville Saturday

“He had the gall to go after my mother”, Bush said, reminding the audience that Trump had criticized his 90-year-old mother, Barbara Bush, wife of former President George H.W. Bush. for him. It took him five days, he went back, it was a mistake, it wasn’t a mistake, it took him five days before his people told him what to say and he ultimately said, it was a mistake… They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction and there were none.

As the crowd roared, Rubio said Cruz is “telling lies… Remember that”, Trump interjected. Bush said he had no idea what he was talking about.

Jeb Bush hit back strongly, saying, “I’m sick and exhausted of Barack Obama blaming my brother for all of the problems” he faces.

“This is from a guy who gets his foreign from the (Sunday morning news) shows”, Mr Bush said.

“Good going, man!” Trump said. He then quickly turned the fire on Trump, saying, “While Donald Trump was building a reality TV show, my brother was building a security apparatus” to keep the country safe.

“They’re attacking the troops we’re supporting”, Bush said about the pro-Putin forces on the ground in Syria. “The world knows this”.

When he was asked about how he would deal with ISIS, he made a decision to weigh in on the Iraq war tiff between Bush and Trump.

“I think it’s up to [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell and everybody to stop him”, Trump. As expected, the feud between front runner Donald Trump and the rest of the presidential candidates has only heated up since the Iowa caucus earlier this month, and it didn’t slow down on Saturday night.

You did your best in New Hampshire.

For Kasich, South Carolina presents more of an uphill battle.

While the audience got a kick out of the fight, it seemed no one was as amused as Ohio Gov. John Kasich – who chose to laugh off the tension after the exchange.

Much of the attention Saturday night will be on Rubio, who fell to fifth place in the New Hampshire primary after stumbling badly in the last GOP debate. The Florida senator also earned the endorsement of two prominent members of Congress from this state: Sen.

How about the argument over who Donald Trump would appoint to the Supreme Court?

“You are the single biggest liar”, Trump told Cruz when the Texas senator challenged him on his previous support for liberal policies.

It was the most viscous and unruly debate yet this cycle, prompting moderator John Dickerson to even interject at one point that he was “going to turn this vehicle around!”

Rubio appeared more fluid in Saturday’s contest, including during a robust defense of his proposed 25 percent corporate tax rate – which is not as much of a tax cut as many of his rivals are pitching.

Cruz called the conservative Scalia an “American hero” and said the Senate should “ensure that the next president names his replacement”. “… It is called delay, delay, delay”. The retired neurosurgeon placed in a disappointing eighth place in New Hampshire, so he’ll need a game-changing performance Saturday night if he wants to carry his campaign past SC. Each candidate had to finish in the top 5 of the New Hampshire, the top 3 in Iowa, or had to be in the top 5 in the SC polls. Trump said tickets to the event had been given out to “donors” and other establishment figures who supported Bush.

News 13’s Darren Botelho will be reporting live from the debate.

The Florida senator is fighting to fix his image as a fresh and articulate party spokesman, especially on foreign policy, where he has tried to establish himself as an aggressive voice. Rubio seemed more prepared yet didn’t come across as rehearsed.
