Storm Imogen batters south England, Wales
The Met Office has said Sussex is set to be hit by Storm Imogen with an amber warning in place, between 3am and 6pm, ahead of the gales.

Forecaster Emma Sillitoe said the winds would be some of the worst so far this winter, not far off gusts of 105mph recorded last month in Shetland, Scotland.
“Gusts of 60-70mph are likely quite widely”.
ITV news anchor Charlene white tweeted: “Gotta go through London Bridge station to get home?”
“Some very large waves are also likely to affect many coasts, in particular north coasts of Cornwall and Devon”, it said.
“A steady strong wind, while being hard work, will not be as hazardous as a blustery wind”, says Jay Merrell, Senior Operational Meteorologist at the Met Office.
Highways England chiefs warned motorists to prepare for possible closures, should high winds keep up throughout the day.
A statement from Southeastern read: “Due to the forecast severe weather conditions, speed restrictions will be in place on some routes across Kent from 11am”.
Storm Imogen has also caused major travel disruption, both on the roads and the rail network.
Ferries may also be cancelled – the Port of Dover was closed for around two hours overnight.

The hugely powerful weather system battered the south with 100mph winds, leaving one dead, an RSPCA inspector still missing and many others injured.

These are the wave heights expected out at sea, along the coast waves will be much smaller, for example the Bristol Channel could see waves of 4 to 6 metres with the highest waves expected at low tide, therefore reducing the potential impact on our coast.
