The fast food chain is broadening its beef kingdom to include two different kinds of grilled hot dogs permanently hitting the menu at its roughly 7,100 US locations later this month.
Burger King is stepping into new territory by adding hot dogs to its menu.
Macedo also told the Wall Street Journal that hot dogs represent a huge growth opportunity for Burger King, and that the idea came from customer feedback.
Unlike Sonic, Burger King will only offer two varieties of hot dog: a plain version (available with mustard, ketchup, relish and onions) and a chili cheese dog. The company suggesting franchisees sell it for $1.99. The first time addition of hot dogs may appear to be a odd one for those who know the food chain for its Whoppers.
Fast food has been a staple in our lives for a long, long time, with fried chicken and burger joints cropping up all over the place.

In Atlanta, hot dogs are topped with coleslaw, and Kansas City dogs feature melted Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. In the third quarter ended September 30, Burger King’s same-store sales rose 6.2%. The mother company, Restaurant Brands International Inc., will report results for 2015 performance next week.
