When you see the Girl Scouts out selling cookies over the next few weeks, you can purchase a box for yourself and the soldiers overseas. Girl Scout cookies are about to hit the streets. Cookie booth sales will begin Friday, Feb. 12, at local businesses throughout the Delmarva Peninsula.

Cookies will remain at $4 a box, with the exception of the gluten free cookie – Toffee-Tastic which will be $5.

In addition to their traditional methods, the Girl Scouts are selling cookies online again this year though personalized websites and a mobile app.

The fundraising effort teaches youngsters business and leadership skills, along with managing money.

It was a “sweet” Saturday for anyone who made it out to the Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons Cookie Crunch at Rushmore Mall. Every girl is encouraged to set and work toward achieving both a team and personal goal.

Proceeds from cookie sales remain with local troops and the local council.
