The Zika virus is transmitted through sex and by mosquitoes in the daytime.

Ennaid Therapeutics, located in Alpharetta, GA is developing therapeutic cures to help the millions of people worldwide when infected with the mosquito-borne disease, Zika Virus, now named a global public health emergency by the World Health Organization and the CDC. Brazil is investigating the potential link between Zika infections and more than 4,300 suspected cases of the birth defect, a condition marked by abnormally small head size that can result in developmental problems.
Several countries have urged women to avoid getting pregnant as researchers work to confirm whether Zika causes microcephaly and the neurological disorder Guillain-Barre syndrome.
Overall, the outbreak has affected 26,542 people and 5,013 pregnant women, the country’s healthcare institute data reported in an epidemiology bulletin.
“The war depends on us”, she said, accompanied by officials, health workers and a swarm of journalists.
According to the Physicians in Crop-Sprayed Towns (PCST), a chemical larvicide that produces malformations in mosquitoes was injected into Brazil’s water supplies in 2014 in order to stop the development of mosquito larvae in drinking water tanks.
“But to market and sell our product, we need an authorization from the Ministry of Health”.
Visiting homes, restaurants and shops, military personnel handed out leaflets with the slogan “a mosquito is not stronger than an entire country”.
The Zika virus has joined terrorism and extreme weather as one of the biggest worries of airline travelers.
“Once Brazil approves us, I do not think we will see a similar time frame in other Latin American countries”, the executive said.
Overall, about 15 groups are working on Zika vaccines.
Talbot, the infectious disease expert at Dartmouth, who also is New Hampshire’s deputy state epidemiologist, said “very active investigations” into a causal link between Zika and birth defects are under way now.

The team with the University Network for Environment and Health also noted that Zika virus outbreaks have previously occurred in other areas with no reports of microcephaly.
