Republicans Christie, Fiorina pull out of White House race
Christie is an ex officio member of the University’s Board of Trustees. “He’s a realist.” Christie launched his bid for the White House last June, encapsulating his straight-talking style with a campaign slogan of “Telling It Like It Is” and focused the majority of his efforts in New Hampshire, where he was hoping for a far better showing.

Christie hit Rubio throughout the run-up to New Hampshire, calling him the “boy in the bubble”, after Rubio’s super PAC spent much of January blasting Christie’s record in New Jersey.
The decision comes a day after the New Jersey governor came in a disappointing 6th place in New Hampshire, despite a heavy investment of time and funds into the first-in-the-nation primary contest.
“What the people here have said is that given the enormous crises facing our country, it is just too late for the same old, same old establishment politics and establishment economics”.
Christie’s campaign had to hold on to what they got. Fiorina, 61, a former Hewlett-Packard chief executive, said in a Facebook post she would suspend her campaign.
Before the announcement, Chris Christie had planned on traveling to SC to continue campaigning.
Cruz highlighted the “significant glaring differences” between the two on health care, stressing that Trump was keen on “adopting Bernie Sanders-style socialised medicine”, a reference to the independent senator challenging Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
On the other side of things, the Republican Party is also seeing a huge deficit for virtually all of the candidates in the SC polls.
“He simply does not have the experience to be the President of the United States”, Christie argued.
Christie finished behind Donald Trump, John Kasich, Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush.
“Christie didn’t really attack like he knows how to attack until last Saturday night, when he knocked out Rubio at the debate”, Katz wrote. Rubio, however, placed one ranking above Christie in the primary. “I need your help here”, Kasich said.
Christie’s attack proved damaging, as Rubio, who had been rising in the polls before the debate, collected only 10.6 percent of the vote, coming in fifth of the Republican candidates, according to The New York Times. Seeking endorsements from any rivals that quit the race, Trump said of Christie, “He’s a friend of mine”.

And Mr Bush, his once forlorn campaign re-energised after outpolling Mr Rubio in New Hampshire, made it clear he will aggressively target the two establishment-aligned rivals he needs to defeat to consolidate the party’s support. Trump also burst back onto TV there beginning Tuesday.
