Five Takeaways from the New Hampshire Primary

Without Christie’s focus on Rubio’s weakness, it’s a lot less likely that television networks aired Rubio’s “glitch” or that Rubiobots followed Rubio around New Hampshire were a lot less likely. A disastrous showing in Iowa (sixth place, just under 3 percent) meant he had to close strong in New Hampshire. “Do not listen to anyone who says you have to vote a certain way or for a certain candidate because you’re a woman”.

The stunning victory by Sanders, an independent lawmaker, was a potential warning sign for Clinton as she turns the campaign toward the next states that vote, Nevada and then SC for the Democrats. Marco Rubio were in third with 10 percent each. He actually attacked Jeb, declaring that the former GOP frontrunner “desperately needed mommy to help him”, and also said, “mom can’t help you with ISIS, the Chinese or with Putin”.

Rubio on Wednesday said it was a mistake during Saturday’s GOP debate to revert to talking points instead of engaging with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who ended his presidential run Wednesday.

“Let me ask you, what has (Rubio) accomplished?”

“Yeah, well, he’s gonna – he attacked my mother for campaigning for me”, Jeb said. But having placed second in New Hampshire he could at least conceivably hope to get a similar response in such states as Massachusetts, Minnesota and Vermont (March 1), Maine (March 5), and Michigan (March 8) before the race gets to his home state of OH and nearby IL on March 15. Seeking endorsements from any rivals that quit the race, Trump said of Christie, “He’s a friend of mine”. “I would be surprised if it’s not May or the convention”.

Before the announcement, Chris Christie had planned on traveling to SC to continue campaigning.

He added: “I think now the race is even narrower, the differences are gonna be a little sharper”.

Brielle Applebaum of the Conservative Leadership Project says a Wednesday forum on legal and constitutional issues set for Charleston has been cancelled.

Mr. Cruz began his speech Wednesday with a familiar salutation: “God bless the great state of SC”.

In a state where Christie had invested the bulk of his resources, his lackluster finish in New Hampshire was effectively the nail in the coffin for his presidential aspirations, Mashable reports.
