Expect the Samsung Blu-ray player and Panasonic’s already announced offerings to arrive in Europe soon.

The Samsung UHD Blu-Ray player is now available to pick up at some stores in California with a steep $400 price tag.

Going by a USA Today report, Video & Audio Center in Santa Monica is evidently preparing to start selling the Samsung UBD-K8500 Ultra HD Blu-ray player to customers. Samsung unveiled 4K Ultra-HD Blu-Ray player at CES 2016 last month, and is likely to generate demand as rival companies are not expected to release them for a few weeks. “With it consumers are ready for the future”.

As for the quality of this new super HD player, Tom Campbell, the chief technologist at the Video and Audio Center said that it was phenomenal. However, it remains unclear when Samsung will release the players to other markets in the US.

As for the Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray discs themselves, they’re still nonexistent at this point, but a number of studios have promised to get on top of releasing or re-releasing their content in the updated format. In fact Frys has only listed The Martian as available right now. Unfortunately, the company says it can not comment at this time.
