Arsene Wenger’s men now find themselves fifth in the table and five points behind the Foxes heading into Sunday’s showdown at The Emirates. In possibly the weirdest season ever in Premiership they have had so many opportunities to take over top of the table and win the title, but they managed to fail every single time.

A quirk of the fixture list has pitted the top four against each other and although there are still 13 matches to go, this weekend could prove pivotal.

While Elneny was away from the team for their last two games he is expected back and should be available for the monster clash against league-leading Leicester City on Sunday.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is adamant his players are not feeling any extra pressure ahead of this weekend’s trip to Arsenal. “For me, the game is a joy and everyone has to be part of it. You can protest before and after, but during the game, you want everybody to be there”.

“We know we’re having a unusual year, we’re doing well because the big teams haven’t found their rhythm, but our plans won’t change next year beyond what happens at the end of this season”.

Ranieri: “For Leicester, the pressure was at the beginning when we started, because our goal was to stay in the Premier League”.

“We will have the same squad for Leicester but there is still two days to go”.

“(Leicester) are still in a position where they think they have nothing to lose.

Former Gunners defender Martin Keown has backed a boycott by Arsenal fans and says he would join them in a show of solidarity.

Leicester will have plenty of backers and it will make one of the all-time great stories in the Premierships history, make that the story of the century if they actually hold on to win the title.

“This year Mahrez has given us incredible magic”, Ranieri said.

But Vardy is confident Leicester, steeled by their recent triumphs at City and Tottenham, have learnt the lessons of their heaviest defeat of the season and will provide more obdurate opposition for Arsenal this time around. “I don’t think also he’s a natural extrovert central defender”.

“When we play together we are very good and that is the secret, we all play for each other”.
