South Asian Games Triathlon: Gold and Silver for India

The Women’s 25m Pistol event also fetched India Golds in both Team and Individual event with Rahi Sarnobat, Anisa Sayyed and Annuraj Singh finishing in the Top 3 in the latter while the trio combining to fire 1741 to win Gold in the former.

The Indian team of Pallavi Retiwala, Dilip Kumar, Thoudam Sarojini Devi and Dhiraj Sawant won the gold with a combined timing of 01:24:31 on the final day of the triathlon competitions at the Sarusajai Sports Complex here.

The Nepal team won the team silver, while Sri Lanka bagged the bronze.

India continues to dominate the medals table at the South Asian Games with 157 gold medals.Sri Lanka who have won a total of 164 medals with 25 Gold, are in second place while Pakistan are in third place.

Triathlon is an event involving Swimming, Cycling and Running in immediate succession over various distances.

In the women under-53 kg category, India’s Latika Bandari clinched the gold beating Nepal’s Neema Gurung in the final round.

In Kabaddi, India defeated Pakistan, 9-8 in a group match which was one closest game, so far.

India also figured in Boxing on Saturday.

Overall, the Afghans clinched six gold, one silver and one bronze in the event.
