LG will introduce all-new Stylus 2 handset at MWC 2016

While commenting on the launch, Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said that LG Stylus 2 offers not only big screen but also incorporates premium notetaking functions at a price of a mid-range smartphone. It’s kicking things off with the X cam and X screen, both of which the company lightly detailed today with plans of more fully disclosing at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.

LG has added a dual screen – two HD displays sitting atop each other – to the second handset. There’s a little bit more RAM on the Stylus 2, though (1.5 GB, compared to just 1 GB on the G Stylo), while the cameras have been bumped to 13 MP (rear) and 8 MP (front).

For specifications, the LG Stylus 2 features a 5.7-inch In-Cell display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Underneath the hood we find a 1.14GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM on an as yet unspecified SoC. The smartphone supports 4G LTE connectivity and will be sold in Titan Silver, White, Gold and Pink Gold colour variants.

The “Second Screen” is above the primary display, allowing you to answer calls, view notifications, control music playback, or perform other activities even when the primary display is off.

LG says that the phone will have a 5.7-inch HD display, which is the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The battery is 2,300 mAh, which is smaller than its counterpart.

LG has quite a few smartphones lined up for a launch at MWC, besides the flagship LG G5 smartphone.

While the X cam focuses on the camera, the X screen, on the other hand, focuses on the smartphone’s display. When it goes on sale, the phablet will ship with the latest version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow. They’ll start appearing on shop shelves from next month in Europe, but we’ll bring you our first impressions of each phone when see in them in the flesh next week at MWC.
