Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime receives a price cut

Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi Note Prime would now be available for sale in India at Rs. 7,999. It’s still being sold only through Amazon and the brand’s own site.

The phone was launched in 2015 at Rs 8,499 and is assembled at Sri City factory in Andhra Pradesh under the “Make In India” project of Xiaomi. The handset is the company’s second Made in India product and was manufactured at Foxconn’s factory in Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, as part of Mi Week on Amazon.in starting 16th February to 19th February, Mi fans can buy Mi 4 and Mi 4i at even more awesome prices. The Xiaomi Mi 4 (16GB) is available with a price tag of Rs 12,999, while the Xiaomi Mi 4i is selling at a price of Rs 9,999. Participants also stand the chance to win a gift card worth Rs 10000 courtesy Amazon, with one victor set to be selected per hour.

On the specification front, the Note Prime comes packed with 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and 178-degree viewing angle.

Xiaomi is also gearing up to launch its new flagship device Mi 5 at MWC 2016. On the software front, the Redmi Note Prime runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7. With 16GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 32GB is also present. Meanwhile it comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS. The phone runs on a 3100mAh Li-ion Polymer battery.
