Eliot Spitzer Accused of Assaulting Woman
The former NY governor who famously resigned after being caught paying for sex with a high-end escort, is now under investigation for assault.

A spokesperson for Spitzer has since denied Travis’ claims.
Spitzer’s lawyer says the woman at first said there was an assault and then he says she later recanted.
Earlier in the day, prosecutors said they had charged the journalists with illegally assembling with the intent to commit a crime. She said the two had been together at a bar at the hotel earlier Saturday evening, the officials said.
The woman is no longer cooperating with police, according to the station. The room is one of the hotel’s Edwardian Suites and is about twice the size of a normal room.
Police responded, and the woman, who is in her 20s, said she was fine, but they noticed the cut on her arm and took her to a hospital.
Police are investigating witnesses and reviewing video in the area, 1010 WINS’ Glenn Schuck reported. Another law enforcement official, however, told ABC that the woman’s injuries were not sustained in the altercation.
He is now being investigated as to whether he was involved in an alleged assault at a Manhattan hotel.
“I’m deeply sorry I did not live up to what was expected of me”, Spitzer said during a March 2008 press conference.
The woman, whose identity has not been released by authorities, told detectives that Spitzer was her boyfriend, the law enforcement source said.
After she told doctors that Spitzer had pushed her and grabbed her by the neck, the hospital contacted the NYPD and she repeated the claim to cops, sources said. She was rushed to Mt. Sinai hospital.
The woman has left the United States and is heading back home to Russian Federation, the source said.

She later changed her account of the incident, became “totally uncooperative” and refused to speak with detectives, sources said.
