First look at the new “Predator” movie has been launched online

The official Predator Facebook page unveiled a promo poster touting, “Here we go again, bro”, with the poster’s tagline reading “You’ll Never See Him Coming”.

That’s all we know for now, though producer John Davis was a year ago quoted as saying that Black’s take is, “genius and I think it’s entertaining, and what it did is recreate a famous franchise in a different, interesting way; looking at it from a different light”.

Black is no stranger to the Predator franchise, having starred in the original film as Hawkins after having been brought on to help rework the 1987 film. That news drought has ended, though, with the unexpected reveal of the first promotional image for the film.

Dekker announced three months ago the script was turned in, with the new Predator movie described as an “inventive sequel”. Black was a supporting actor in the original Predator and worked on the script. He also wrote Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout, both ’80s flicks that I loved growing up.

Directed by Shane Black, written by Shane Black, Fred Dekker and starring TBA, Predator 4 releases 2018.

For Black, the concept of “expanding and exploring” the existing “Predator” mythology is better than “hitting the restart button”. No other information including a possible release date has been revealed as of now.
