Bond, what Bond? Idris Elba kills it in ‘Bastille Day’ trailer
While it has never been confirmed that Sony and MGM have been considering Idris Elba to take over as the iconic secret agent, fans will get to see the actor display his spy skills in a new action-thriller entitled Bastille Day. Idris Elba’s character Sean Briar, is asked to discreetly catch Mason, leading to a very indiscreet chase scene across rooftops where Elba finally catches and meets Mason.

Elba and Madden both play Americans, but the story takes place in Paris where Madden’s pickpocket character is targeted by Elba’s Central Intelligence Agency agent.
Within a 24-hour deadline, the journey to truth implodes with an even larger conspiracy, schemes and Elba using the thief as a pawn to solve the case. It’s true. But, until that becomes official (or we spend the day they announce someone else crying), we have Bastille Day to tide us over.
Michael Mason (Madden) is an American pickpocket living in Paris who finds himself hunted by the Central Intelligence Agency when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet.

Bastille Day is set for release on April 22nd in the United Kingdom and features a cast that also includes Kelly Reilly and Charlotte Le Bon. No U.S. release date has been set. His latest film “Bastille Day” proved that he didn’t need the coveted role to make him the king of spy action, AceShowbiz said.
