After cashing in a winning Powerball ticket for $327.8 million, a Florida couple has modest goals for their first purchases: a new vehicle and a massage. A press conference is set to take place at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee Wednesday to present the winners. That prize was split January 13 by three lottery tickets purchased in California, Florida and Tennessee. And on Wednesday, the owners of the winning ticket sold in Melbourne Beach, Florida, are making their public debut, state lottery officials said.

The couple shared their initial disbelief at having won the record-breaking jackpot.

The winners stated they had been playing the same numbers for years and though they did not watch the drawing live, they realized the next morning they had the winning numbers. “Especially when everyone was saying, ‘You’re from Melbourne Beach, did you win?” The couple said they shop at that location frequently.

Ms Smith said they have not yet fully decided on what to do with their newfound wealth.

“I’m afraid it will make me less friendly because of all the worrying”, she said.

Delgado, 51, who works in graphic arts, said that Smith, 70, frequently played the lotto.
