Starbucks working on plan to let Lyft drivers, riders earn rewards points

Since 1971, Starbucks Coffee Company has been committed to ethically sourcing and roasting high-quality arabica coffee.

John Zimmer, co-founder and president of the San Francisco-based Lyft, predicted the partnership will help build the growing company’s brand. Brotman said that Starbucks official have identified “one or two” cities that they think would be ideal for the pilot but don’t plan on launching the experiment until later this year.

The rewards points can be used to purchase food and beverages at Starbucks. For instance, it is doubtful that Starbucks makes much money off of newspaper sales, and most customers now come to the store with their mobile device or laptop, so it is possible that Starbucks might be dumping its racks.
