Mourinho starts war of words with Martinez
“That is the market now”, Mourinho told several national newspapers.

“You want to achieve the most you can in the short period you have in your career as a professional footballer”. “If you don’t want to pay it, don’t pay”. It’s as simple as that.
Regardless, Martinez is still in the market for defensive reinforcements after losing Sylvain Distin at the end of last season.
Chelsea are ready to up the offer to £30million yet Martinez insists Everton are “not a selling club”.
“It’s a good market”, he continued.
“If one day Roberto, or the chairman, come and say: “He’s not for sale, we don’t accept any bid” – game over”. I don’t even criticise them.
But Everton are adamant they are not about to lose a player that Roberto Martinez sees as key to next season’s Premier League challenge.
“The other side is the disappointment in seeing a football club making such a statement in the press and making it so openly”. And that is maybe why none of the top clubs are not full of young English players. “But that is the market”.
The supporters are understandably mad as they feel Chelsea are deliberately seeking to unsettle Stones and encourage him to push for a move.
The Toffees face a fight to hold on to England defender John Stones, who was the subject of a £20m Chelsea bid last week.
He said: “There will be pressure here, for sure, but I like pressure”.
The report said that Stones would not force anything or submit a transfer request, but he is allegedly looking forward to the two clubs finalizing an agreement as soon as possible.
So, Stones would add quality and, despite being so young, experience of being a regular in the Premier League.
While centre-half Stones still has four years left on his current contract, it’ll still be hard for the player to turn down a potential move to the Premier League champions.

Pedro and Stones would be interesting acquisitions for Chelsea, but it does not seem there is room in the squad for Witsel, in an already congested part of the squad. We think it [the transfer market] is open but it is not open it is closed. I am sure in the next few years he will fill out, learn a lot and potentially he can be a fantastic player.
