South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, viewed in Republican circles as a possible U.S. vice presidential candidate, will endorse U.S. Senator Marco Rubio for their party’s 2016 White House nomination on Wednesday, three days before her state’s presidential primary, said a source familiar with the situation.

The letter, dated Tuesday from Trump attorney Jeffrey Goldman, threatens legal action over Cruz’s ad that shows a 1999 clip of Trump claiming he would not ban partial-birth abortions, the campaign said.
If that’s how it plays out in SC – and in Nevada, where Trump, Rubio, and Cruz are completely dominating the field – then the pressure will shift from Rubio the Robot to the one-hit wonders of New Hampshire, Jeb Bush and John Kasich, who have no real prospects of victory until their home-state primaries on March 15 (in Bush’s case, that will be a winner-take-all grudge match with Rubio as well as Trump and Cruz). “Apple should absolutely, we should force them to do it. “He doesn’t have one Republican endorsement from the Senate and he works with the Senate”, Trump said at MSNBC’s town hall in SC.
“Mr. Trump has sent me a cease and desist letter saying stop telling the voters my record.”
Ahead of Saturday’s Republican vote, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and the billionaire Trump battled for votes with an exchange of harsh words. Christopher Newport University’s last poll, in October, found the same front-runners: Clinton and Trump.

“If you say something that isn’t true and you say it over and over and you know it’s not true, it must be a lie”, Rubio said. Supporters of both Trump and Cruz, however, are more strongly committed.
“She embodies everything I want the Republican Party to be about”, Rubio said.

In South Carolina, Ted Cruz lags behind Donald Trump in a distant 2nd place, according to the latest polling aggregation. Cruz and legal experts have said he is eligible because his mother was a United States citizen at the time of his birth.
