Massive Assassin’s Creed shake-up could change series forever
And, of course, the Michael Fassbender-starring Assassin’s Creed movie.

According to new details, Ubisoft may not even release one every year when the series eventually returns.
Rumours indicate that the next Assassin’s Creed will take place in Egypt. What are your thoughts on the franchise not releasing annually for the near future?
And it seems that publisher Ubisoft agrees. Speaking to investors at a recent Ubisoft event, CEO Yves Guillemot spoke about how the industry had evolved into constant support for long-running games rather than cyclical, yearly releases.
When another game does release, Guillemot recently said that “the goal is not to automatically come back to an annual cycle”, PlayStation Lifestyle reports.
Again, this sounds good from where we’re sitting.
But the question is, will the publisher return to the annual entries after AC returns? Give it a rest in the comments section below. “If we feel like we are in the right direction and that we can continue the path and we have enough innovation for the next one, we might come with the next one in the next year”, he added. The novels are to be based on the gaming franchise and will be titled “Last Descendants”.
“What we are seeing today is promising”. And while the games preceding Unity have all received decent scores, many were nonetheless criticised for their formulaic approach. It’s a well-known fact that the series won’t see a new instalment in 2016.

Their big plans come in money form as well – Ubi wants to grow revenues 60% by financial year 2018-19, not only through games but multimedia projects, such as the Assassin’s Creed film.
