Florida Winners of Historic $1.58B Powerball Jackpot Revealed

The ticket was one of three that matched all six winning numbers of the $1.586 billion Powerball draw. Smith and her husband, David Kaltschmidt, age 55, shared the jackpot with winners in Tennessee and California.

The winners said the ticket was purchased at the Melbourne Publix off State Road A1A.

The second winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Chino Hills, California.

John and Lisa Robinson of Munford, Tenn., took the lump sum and will pocket a little more than $327 million before taxes, Tennessee Lottery officials said.

The big Powerball jackpot victor from Melbourne Beach, Florida, is being announced today. “I’m afraid it’s going to make me less friendly”.

When Smith showed Kaltschmidt the winning numbers, he didn’t believe her at first, she recalled at Wednesday’s press conference that was posted by Fox 10 Phoenix.

“I’ve been playing them for so many years I really don’t remember”, she said.

Smith said it was hard to keep their secret from their family and friends.

The couple is sharing their Powerball money with two other winners.

The lottery purchasing frenzy also extended to instant-scratch tickets which set a new monthly sales record at $20.8 million in January.

“I’ve just said hi to them a few times in the yard and they’ve been taking walks like they normally do”, Holmquist said.
