Three Chelsea fans responsible for not allowing a black man to board a Paris Metro train have been banned from attending any soccer match at home or overseas for five years, the Independent reports.

The sentence has bene handed down after Barklie and other Chelsea supporters were seen chanting “john Terry is racist and that’s the way we like it” as a black man was pushed off a Metro train after a Chelsea V Paris Saint Germain match.

A former Millfield School pupil has received a five-year ban from football matches, after taking part in a racist attack in Paris.

Meanwhile the Kick it Out group, which campaigns to rid football of racism, said: “This whole episode has shone a very negative light on English football and acts as a serious reminder to anybody else contemplating starting or joining in with such chants or behaviour in the future”.

Jordan Munday, of Sidcup south-east London, who allegedly joined in the racist chanting, was banned for three years.

Barklie, of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, admitted pushing Souleymane Sylla – but claimed the Frenchman was the one “using agression”.

Mr Sylla said he was left feeling “humiliated” and depressed following the shocking attack.

Chelsea followed suit by banning the four for life from buying tickets from them or attending games at their Stamford Bridge stadium.

Gareth Branston, a judge at a Stratford magistrates’ court sitting in London on Wednesday, July 22 described the role each of the fans played in the train incident.

“Another person made a sign indicating to the colour of the skin on his face“.

Barklie had “demonstrated aggressive disorderly conduct” at odds with the many character references attesting to his good character at work, said Branson, adding: “His behaviour at football matches has not matched the picture of him away from the game”.
