Kesha, 28, sobbed in a New York City courtroom on Friday as a judge delivered her ruling in the latest chapter of her long-running legal dispute with the music producer Dr Luke.

In October 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the music producer, alleging sexual and physical assault.

The court decision prompted outrage from Kesha supporters and the hashtag #FreeKesha began trending.

Stars have voiced their support for Kesha following a judge’s ruling that she must stay in her contract with Sony Records.

He has not been charged with any crime, and his lawyer, Christine Lepera, says “he wants his name restored”.

They say she doesn’t have to work with him personally, though he has rights to produce at least six songs on each of her albums and could pursue damages if he doesn’t.

Justice Kornreich also noted an apparent $60 million investment by Dr Luke in Kesha’s career, adding: “My instinct is to do the commercially reasonable thing”.

Before her big legal loss on Friday, Kesha flashed a new planet tattoo while being swarmed outside the New York State Supreme Court.

Billboard reported that, according to the suit, those pills were a form of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, which make up the date rape drug.

Under these complaints, Kesha requested to be released from her contract with Sony.

Dr. Luke is also accused of verbal and emotional abuse, there are even accusations that the producer called Kesha a “fat f**king refrigerator” in an attempt to get her to lose weight in time for a tour.

He’s denied the allegations and said she made it all up to get out of her contract.

However, when the 22-year-old “Focus” singer guested recently on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, she disclosed that there are now discussions going on in the recording company whether to stick with the title of “Moonlight” or change it to something different.
