‘Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition’ Hits PC After Xbox One

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer broke the news on Twitter in response to a fan’s inquiry about the PC release date. Unfortunately, for PC Gears of War fans, that does not appear to be the case. So, many gamers thought it was about to arrive on the store shelves on August 25, just like the Xbox One version.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is the remaster of the original Xbox 360 release of the shooter from 2006.

Studio Head of The Coalition, Rod Fergusson speaks about “Gears of War” during the Microsoft Xbox E3 press conference at the Galen Center on June 15, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. How much later was not confirmed by Spencer in his Tweet, but hopefully it will be available by the end of the year.

With Windows 10, Microsoft looks to really be making an effort to bolster their PC gaming lineup. During this period of time Microsoft will begin its expansion of first-party game releases to PC beginning with a confirmed release of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on the platform. Of course, this would mean that the game would lack the PC exclusive bells and whistles, such as the 4K resolution upgrade, but it’s something.

The original announcement of the PC version did not exactly include an official release date, but if it was releasing at the same time as the Xbox One version… they would have metioned it as it’s pretty big news for the PC gaming community. This multiplayer skin lets you play as the Golden Hunter in competitive multiplayer matches in ‘Gears of War: “Ultimate Edition, ‘” wrote Best Buy on their ad for the game. For one, gamers with an Xbox One will soon be able to stream their games to their local PC.
