SeaWorld Names New Executives For Park, Zoo Operations
As a result, animal rights activists have organized protests and petitions against the entertainment company which are still going on.

John Reilly, the current park president of SeaWorld San Diego, will become SeaWorld’s chief parks operations officer, responsible for operational oversight over the company’s 11 theme parks.
The Orlando-based theme park company named SeaWorld’s VP of Veterinary Services Christopher Dold as its new chief zoological officer. In an attempt to win back customers Manby past year announced SeaWorld would stop its “theatrical killer whale experience” at the San Diego park.
Less than one year after the hiring of a new CEO, SeaWorld Entertainment shook up the management team, creating a new branch that focuses on expanding the theme parks of the company.
SeaWorld Entertainment Inc.is changing the two executives in charge of its park and animal operations as the company continues efforts to pivot away from its well-known killer-whale shows. He replaces Brad Andrews, who becomes Zoological Director Emeritus.
Marilyn Hannes, SeaWorld’s Vice President of Global Sales, will replace Reilly as the head of SeaWorld San Diego. The appointments are effective on April 1. Andrews will continue to advise the company in his new role.
Joel Manby, SeaWorld’s chief executive, said the executives were being replaced by others with “extraordinary depth of knowledge” and “the right expertise to deliver on our strategic priorities”.
-San Antonio park President Dan Decker is leaving the company and will be succeeded by Carl Lum, who was serving as the company’s Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA park president.
Most of the announced moves involve promoting leaders already within the company.
